Sometimes, when a client comes to me with a persistent muscular pain, we discover underlying issues related to blocked emotions.
In these cases, it is really important to remember that there are layers of stress built into the tissues, and although relief may be found after the first massage, it can return quickly to its painful position. This is because the muscle is flexible and has memory, therefore needs to be reminded of its natural aspect. Also, the suppressed emotion that contributed to the cause needs to be addressed. Energy work can assist this process.
